to almost all of our small business clients that they include a blog with their site.

WHAT IS A BLOG?

A blog (short for weblog) is a type of website providing commentary or news on a particular subject made up of usually short, frequently updated posts that are arranged chronologically. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some combine text, photographs, links to other blogs, web pages, videos, music and audio, related to its topic.

Some clients are interested in adding a blog to an existing site. In this case, we can create a 2 or 3-column custom blog layout that matches the rest of the site.

Some clients only want a blog (i.e. Wordpress, Blogspot, Drupal, Joomla), and as above, we can create a 2 or 3-column custom blog. All you do is choose your theme & learn the basics!

Some clients are only interested in writing posts, but others want to learn how to install add-ons to enhance site functionality. If the site is built in WordPress, the client has access to everything - they can easily edit and add pages and posts whenever they like using the administrative back end. How much they can do depends ultimately on how interested they are and the time available to them.

Blogs use a templating system and once set up can be easily editted. Blogs feature integrated link management, automatic formatting and styling of text in articles, are  search engine-friendly, as well as, have plug-in capabilities which allow users and developers to extend their blog's functionality beyond the features that come as part of the basic install.
